I keep hearing Rachel talk and trying to over talk the others. Makes me wonder how good she is at listening. She doesn't appear to listen to the other candidates. Does that mean she doesn't really listen to the people either? Hmmm.
I have a problem with the minimum wage. I believe that when minimum wage came into effect it was to ensure that Albertans working made a reasonable living. At that time the average Albertan was working 44 hours per week. At this time the average Albertan working in retail has a part time job that gets 20 hours per week. Obviously you can not live on 20 hours X $10.20. I think you could on 44 hours X $10.20. I would like the minimum wage to reflect the average worker and that it provides what Don Iveson (not my mayor but I love his idea) calls a living wage. We should not need two or more jobs to provide a living wage.
